VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Police Department has made an arrest stemming from the investigation of an incident last month.
On April 22, Vancouver Police responded to 7803 NE Fourth Plain Blvd. for a hit and run involving a motorcyclist who was hit by an SUV, which fled the scene. The motorcyclist, identified as 57-year-old Larry Hicks, did not survive his injuries.
On May 24, the Vancouver Police Department located Corey D. Shenkle, 33, near SE Mill Plain Blvd./NE Chkalov Drive. Schenkle was taken into custody without incident and was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail for Murder I, Hit and Run w/Death and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
The investigation by the Vancouver Police Department Major Crime Unit and Vancouver Police Traffic Unit is continuing. Nothing further is releasable at this time.
