Road rage prompts Highway 14 shooting in Vancouver

No one was injured when a driver shot at another Wednesday afternoon during a road rage incident on state Highway 14, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Around 3:10 p.m., the two drivers were on Highway 14 east near Exit 4 to Lieser Road in Vancouver when one of them fired a shot into the other’s rear window, said spokesman Trooper Will Finn. The shooter took the exit, and the other driver kept going to his workplace in Camas, then called 911.

Troopers checked the area of Highway 14 and Lieser Road but have not located the shooter or his car, Finn said. Detectives will check video footage in the area.

The victim described the shooter as a man with a goatee wearing a baseball cap. He said the man was driving a large SUV similar to a Chevrolet Tahoe.

The state patrol said the shooting was not related to the police activity that blocked the Interstate 5 bridge shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
