The 4A Greater St. Helens League claimed the top three spots at the 4A bi-district girls golf tournament on Wednesday.
Jacinda Lee shot an even-par 71 to rally past Union’s Jade Gruher and won the 4A bi-district tournament at Meadow Park Golf Course in Tacoma.
Gruher held a two-shot lead after Tuesday’s first round. But a second-round 76 left her three shots behind Lee, who had a 36-hole total of 146.
Lee had a birdie 2 on No. 17.
Camas’ Jasmine Chen shot a 1-over 72 Wednesday to finish in the third, one shot behind Gruher at 150. Camas’ Callie Wengler was 10th at 168 as Camas beat Bellarmine 642-671 for the team title.
The Camas team and Gruher advance to the state tournament next week at Hawks Prairie Golf Course in Lacey.
CAMAS 1, LEWIS & CLARK 0 — JP Warnell scored the goal in the first half for the Papermakers with an assist from Kieran Halsinger as Camas won the 4A state first-round match played at Gonzaga Prep in Spokane.
It was the second consecutive clean sheet for Camas goalkeeper Hayden Rouse. He was credited with three saves.
No. 9 seed Camas (16-3-1) will face No. 1 Pasco (18-1) in the state quarterfinals at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pasco.
Pasco has allows just four goals all season with its only loss a 1-0 decision to Chiawana on May 3.
EAST VALLEY-YAKIMA 3, FORT VANCOUVER 0 — The dream season for the Trappers came to an end with the shutout loss at Yakima in the first round of the 2A state tournament.
It was the first time since at least 1988 that the Trappers (13-8) had qualified for the state tournament.
