Local law enforcement agencies seek information on robbery suspect (Photo) – 06/07/22

Vancouver, Wash. –Between April 7, 2022, and June 6, 2022, over 30 robberies have occurred at a variety of businesses throughout the metro area; to include coffee shops, hotels, auto parts stores, take out restaurants, a cosmetics store, gas stations, and at least one adult store. Investigators from multiple agencies including the Vancouver Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Portland Police Bureau, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washougal Police Department, Gresham Police Department, Lake Oswego Police Department, Hillsboro Police Department, West Linn Police Department and Gladstone Police Department have been investigating these incidents and believe the same suspect is responsible.

Surveillance video has been captured from several of the robberies. The suspect is described as white male adult, 30-35 years of age, brown hair, brown beard, 5’8” to 5’10, 160 lbs., usually wearing a face covering and baseball cap. The suspect enters the business, produces a handgun, and demands cash before fleeing. 

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 9-1-1 in their respective jurisdiction. Do not approach the suspect as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Vancouver Police looking for missing man (Photo) – 06/03/22

The Vancouver Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating Jordan Vossenkemper, who went missing from his Vancouver apartment under suspicious circumstances between June 1st and 2nd, 2022. Justin is a 32-year-old male, 6 ft tall, and 160 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about Jordan is asked to please call the Vancouver Police Department.

Vancouver Police fatality collision investigation continuing (Photo) – 05/31/22

Vancouver, Wash. – On May 28, 2022, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to NW Lower River Rd. for a multi-vehicle collision. The involved vehicles were a Ford F-150, which was pulling a travel trailer, a Kia Soul and an Acura TL.  When officers arrived, they located the travel trailer separated from the Ford pickup and down an embankment, and the Kia wedged underneath the Ford. The Vancouver Fire Department responded and used hydraulic tools to extract trapped occupants from both the Ford and the Kia.  The Acura was discovered down the north embankment with the roof sheared off. The male driver of the Acura was deceased. The occupants of the Ford and the Kia remain hospitalized with serious injuries. The roadway was closed in both directions for several hours due to an environmental biohazard caused by the trailer’s damaged sewage tank. The roadway and surrounding area have since been thoroughly cleaned.

Speed and impairment are believed to be factors in the collision. 

The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation. No names of the involved parties are being released at this time. Anyone who may have seen the involved vehicles prior to the collision is asked to email the VPD Traffic Unit at: [email protected]

Vancouver Police Department Searching for Missing 12 Year Old Male (Photo) – 05/28/22

The child in this alert has been located, thank you.  

Vancouver, Wash. – On April 22, 2022, Vancouver Police responded to 7803 NE Fourth Plain Blvd. for a hit and run involving a motorcyclist who was hit by an SUV, which fled the scene. The motorcyclist, identified as Larry Hicks, 57 years of age, did not survive his injuries.  

On May 24, 2022, the Vancouver Police Department located Corey D. Shenkle, 33 years of age, near SE Mill Plain Blvd./NE Chkalov Drive. Schenkle was taken into custody without incident and was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail for Murder I, Hit and Run w/Death and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. 

The investigation by the Vancouver Police Department Major Crime Unit and Vancouver Police Traffic Unit is continuing. Nothing further is releasable at this time.

Vancouver, Wash. –On May 19, 2022, at approximately 4:39 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to reports of a shooting and a large physical fight in the parking lot outside an apartment complex at 4619 NE 112^th Ave. In addition to the initial crime scene location, a possible suspect vehicle was reported to be fleeing the area and multiple involved subjects were reported to be walking away from the area.  The suspect vehicle was stopped at a nearby business and three males (one 18-year-old and two 17-year old’s) were detained. 

The investigation revealed that Laufilitonga K.Tamoua, 18 years of age, allegedly had an altercation earlier in the day with two juvenile males and pointed a firearm at them. The two juveniles and another 18-year-old male showed up in the afternoon at Tamoua’s apartment to confront him and he armed himself with a firearm. The three males threw rocks and/or used a slingshot to project ball bearings toward Tamoua, in response he fired the gun at them. Tamoua gave the gun to another male, who took off in the vehicle that was later located by police. The apartment complex property sustained damage from both firearm and slingshot projectiles. There were no serious injuries reported. 

Laufilitonga K. Tamoua, was arrested for Assault I and booked into the Clark County Jail. 

Additionally, charges were referred for Assault II and Malicious Mischief for an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old who were also involved in the incident. 

The investigation is continuing.

Vancouver Police is seeking assistance in locating missing child (Photo) – 05/19/22

VPD Case# 2022-013309

The Vancouver Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old male. Pablo E. Lopez-Simon was last seen on 5/18/2022 near the 3200 block of E Mill Plain Blvd. Pablo is a Hispanic male with brown hair shaved on the sides and long and styled in a ponytail on the top, and brown eyes. He is 5’0” tall and weighs about 90 lbs. He was last seen carrying a backpack and wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white and black shoes. 

Anyone with information about Pablo is asked to call 911.

Child returned home safely.

Vancouver, Wash. – On May 17, 2022, at approximately 9:28 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to Covington Middle School where a 13-year-old female student reported that earlier this morning as she was walking to school in the area of NE 49^th Street/NE 112^th Avenue, she was approached by an unknown male who emerged from some bushes, attempted to engage her in conversation and “loosely” grabbed her to get her into the bushes with him. The female was able to break away from him and continued to walk away. The male was last seen in the area of NE Fourth Plain Blvd./NE Gher Rd. 

The suspect is described as 20-30 years of age, Hispanic male, short “buzz” cut black hair, thin build, 5’5”-5’7”, wearing a black tank top and tan work boots, he also had tattoos on both arms.

The Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit at the Vancouver Police Department began an investigation into Stephen Sharp possessing and dealing in dozens of photos and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children. It was learned on at least one account, child exploitation imagery was downloaded within proximity to Arby’s at 221 NE 104^th Ave, Vancouver WA. 

On May 10, 2022, Stephen Sharp was contacted by detectives and confessed in an interview to downloading and distributing child pornography and having a sexual interest in children. He confirmed employment as the night manager at Arby’s. A search warrant was executed on Stephen Sharp’s digital devices located on his person and at his residence. A preliminary search by a DECU digital forensics investigator revealed a video of a subject later identified as Stephen Sharp urinating in a container confirmed to be milkshake mix from Arby’s. Stephen Sharp confessed to detectives he urinated on at least two occasions into the milkshake mixture for sexual gratification.

Police are asking if you purchased a milkshake from the Arby’s located at 221 NE 104 Ave, Vancouver WA on October 30 & 31, 2021 and you have a receipt or verified transaction information to confirm the purchase, please contact Detective Robert Givens at [email protected]. The Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit has not located evidence that Arby’s or its franchisee were aware of the abhorrent actions of Stephen Sharp.

Stephen Sharp was booked into Clark County jail on 4 counts (charging max) of Possession of Depictions of Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct, 4 counts (charging max) of Dealing Depictions of Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct and Assault II. The content on Stephen Sharp’s digital devices is still under investigation.

Vancouver Police seek information on missing man on one year anniversary of his disappearance (Photo) – 05/12/22

Vancouver, Wash. –On May 24, 2021, Brandon Thomas Majors (DOB: 4-5-1986) was reported missing by his mother, after not hearing from him since Mother’s Day 2021 (May 9, 2021). After being reported missing, Vancouver Police Detectives began an investigation into Brandon’s whereabouts/disappearance.

Detectives developed a timeline of Brandon’s whereabouts on May 12, 2021, when he was last seen by acquaintances.

The timeline is as follows:

• Brandon was last observed on the evening of May 12, 2021, in the Rose Village neighborhood in Vancouver, Washington.
• Brandon left the Rose Village neighborhood on the evening of May 12, 2021, in a gray BMW SUV.
• Approximately one hour after Brandon left in that vehicle, VPD Officers responded to reports that a BMW had driven into the Columbia River.
• Vancouver Police, along with partnering agencies, searched the area of the crashed vehicle; however, no one was located.
• Witnesses reported seeing multiple people flee the area of the BMW.

Vancouver Police Detectives have conducted dozens of interviews, none which have resulted in information on what happened to Brandon. Based on interviews with Brandon’s acquaintances, many believe that foul play was involved with Brandon’s disappearance; however, no one has reported having firsthand information of what occurred.  Several people that Brandon was last observed with have refused to cooperate with the investigation. 

In July 2021, Vancouver Police submitted the case to Crime Stoppers of Oregon. No tips from that have resulted in information that led to locating Brandon or determining what happened to him. The investigation and Crime Stopper case remain active.  

Throughout the investigation, Vancouver Police Detectives assigned to this case have maintained a close relationship with Brandon’s family, who are seeking answers and closure as to what happened to him.  The attached photographs of Brandon were provided by his mother, Beverly Bagley.

Vancouver Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 86-year-old male. Richard Wagner was last seen in the Vancouver area on 5/11/22 around 1500 hours driving a 1996 green, Dodge Ram 1500 bearing Washington plate C51441C.

Richard is a White male, with thinning grey hair, and green eyes. He is 6’2” tall and weighs about 140lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, black jeans, and black shoes. 

Richard has been diagnosed with dementia and may have difficulty finding his way home.
