The National Weather Service in Portland continues to predict snow will fall and accumulate in Clark County beginning this evening as a large system brings cold weather into the region that could last for days.

By the time we are done with the snowfall, two to eight inches may be on the ground in Clark County. Higher elevations will get more snow, though the pattern will be showery, meaning some areas at the same elevation may get more, and others will get less.

According to the winter storm warning, the snow could start around 7 p.m. and continue intermittently through Monday.

The temperature at Pearson Field in Vancouver was 36 degrees at 8 a.m. Saturday but is expected to plunge as the cold, wet weather arrives. Sunday’s low is forecast to be 18 degrees in Vancouver.

Driving is expected to be difficult; motorists are urged to avoid traveling if possible.
